BA (Hons) Advertising Design

The Advertising Design course at the University of South Wales produces the creative directors, art directors, brand managers, copywriters, digital designers, planners and strategists of the future. One of only a few specialist advertising design courses in the UK, this course will give you the opportunity to develop the creative and technical skills, and the ability and confidence to work in the fast paced and constantly evolving world of advertising.

You will study a wide range of topics and develop extensive skills in copywriting, creative direction and strategy development, as well as designing campaigns for all forms of traditional and new media advertising. Studying advertising design in Cardiff, you’ll be a part of our creative community and have the chance to collaborate with other creative industries students such as photographers, artists and musicians.

What you will study

Year one focuses on developing your ability to generate new and innovative ideas and concepts and to solve a variety of communication problems. Workshops are complemented by introductions to a range of technical skills, and supported by a programme of classes that will explore the theory of advertising and media culture.
